Lilly Rising by Cathy Southwell My rating: 4 of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lilly Rising, a supernatural thriller, is the debut novel from Australian author Cathy Southwell. In this story, a pair of ex-Australian soldiers partner to locate missing persons, missing DEAD persons, that is. Lilly Applebaum has the ability to locate the burial place of anyone. Dan Wolfe (Wolf) works with her, providing logistical support as well as protection/security when necessary, and can enhance her abilities when needed.
In Lilly Rising, the pair agree to locate and dispose of the body of a missing girl for a powerful politician, Senator Wilks, who wants to ensure that no one learns of the recovery. They soon learn that the Senator will go to extreme lengths to make sure there is absolutely no possibility that his involvement will become public knowledge.
This story grabbed my attention from the first page and kept me wanting to read long after I should have turned out the light. There is plenty of action, intrigue and plots within plots to keep the reader guessing about what will happen, whether anyone can be trusted, and who will - and will NOT - survive.
I'll be looking for more books by Cathy Southwell in the future.
